I moved formally into an act structure by dint of this post Game Design Concepts, Lesson 9. It had taken me some time to get around to reading this and it helped me take a step back to how i wanted the mechanics to trip story and how i wanted story to be cause-and-effect less so than a plodding “and then”.
The asset revisit scene is now an important part of the recap out of the Minor struggle because it allows for non-direct conflict and character development. I’m trying how to leverage Y against Character so that the slugfests have some macro relevance. The recaps may be enough but i’d like to add another level of engagement for the players.
